Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Investigate current practices in relation to resource usage
  2. Identify environmental regulations applying to the enterprise
  3. Assess procedures for assessing compliance with environmental regulations
  4. Collect information on environmental and resource efficiency systems and procedures and provide to the work group, as required
  5. Measure and record current resource usage by members of the work group
  6. Analyse and record current purchasing strategies
  7. Analyse current work processes to access information and data, and assist in identifying areas for improvement

Regulatory framework

The latest version of all legislation, regulations, industry codes of practice and Australian/international standards, or the version specified by the local regulatory authority, must be used, and include one or more of the following:

legislative requirements, including work health and safety (WHS)

environmental regulations and guidelines

Australian and other standards

licence and certification requirements

ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems

Procedures

All operations must be performed in accordance with relevant procedures.

Procedures are written, verbal, visual, computer-based or in some other form, and include one or more of the following:

work instructions

standard operating procedures (SOPs)

safe work method statements (SWMS)

formulas/recipes

batch sheets

temporary instructions

any similar instructions provided for the smooth running of the plant
